How much does a cake from White Satin Cakes cost?

Cakes come in a variety of sizes, flavours and decorations. Every cake we make is made to order and created to the customer's specifications, so every cake is different. To find out how much your desired cake would cost, please email us at enquiries@whitesatincakes.co.uk and tell us what you need, or complete the enquiry form online. We will get back to you to clarify details of the cake and give you a quote.

As a guideline, our 7" round celebration cakes start at £35 for very basic decoration, and a simply decorated three tier sponge wedding cake to feed approximately 100 guests starts at £300.

Can you deliver my cake?

You can come and pick your cake up, or we can deliver it for a small cost.

Can you set up my wedding cake?

Yes. In fact, with wedding cakes, we recommend that you use our delivery and set up service. Stacking and setting up a wedding cake is not an easy task and your wedding venue staff may not know how your cake should be put together. We offer our delivery and set up service for a small cost. We are based in Broadstairs, Kent, so we can easily deliver to many local areas (Broadstairs, Margate, Ramsgate, Birchington, Sandwich, Deal and the Canterbury area). Please talk to us about whether we will be able to deliver to your venue.

Do you cater for special dietary needs or allergies?

While we use products that are free from nuts, we cannot guarantee that the factories producing certain ingredients are nut free. We are trying to develop some recipes that exclude dairy and eggs and that would therefore be suitable for vegans, and hope to develop gluten free recipes soon too. We can also offer a 'decorating only' service where we would decorate and finish your own homemade cake. So if you have a tried and tested recipe that suits your own dietary requirements but you are not capable of decorating it yourself, get in touch with us to discuss your options.

What if I need to cancel my cake?

If for some reason you no longer require your cake, you need to give us four weeks' notice or you will lose your deposit. Less than two weeks' notice will result in 50% of the fee being owed to White Satin Cake Company.

Can I make changes to my cake design?

You can make any changes to the design of your cake so long as enough notice is given to our cake maker. With wedding cakes, no more changes can be made after four weeks from the wedding date. If you order a fruitcake as part of your cake, then please note that this is baked around three months before your event, so cancelling a fruitcake will require at least three months' notice.

I want quite a big wedding cake, but there are not many people coming to the wedding. Will lots of cake be wasted?

What some people do not realise when they look at huge, extravagant wedding cakes, is that sometimes not all of it is actually cake! If you want a 6 tier cake because you love the look of a big, elegant cake, but you only have 50 guests, then we can build some of your cake out of 'cake dummies'. You can also take some cake home and enjoy it after your wedding. Conversely, if you have a large guest list but only want a small cake, we can provide extra layers to be delivered directly to the kitchen for cutting so there is enough to feed all of your guests.

I don't know how many tiers I need to feed the number of guests coming to my wedding. How do I calculate this?

You don't have to. We'll do that for you. All you have to do when you contact us is tell us how many tiers you would like to have (for the appearance of your cake) and how many guests you have. We will then tell you the best number and sizes of tiers to go for.

Can I taste some cake before placing my order?

Yes. If you wish to taste some samples please contact us via email at enquiries@whitesatincakes.co.uk. Please note that we do not deliver or post cake samples, so you will have to visit us to taste our cake. We exhibit our cakes at wedding fairs, and we always bring samples for guests to taste. Look out for details of wedding fairs we will be at on our home page.
